Croft Technology, based in Newcastle, put the pedal to the metal and undertook a gruelling 200 mile bike ride in aid of the NSPCC.
The team from Croft included: Phil Renton (Managing Director), Stephen Fellows (Enterprise Account Manager), Andy Renton (Technical Services Engineer), Colin Myers (Senior Technical Consultant), Colin Downer (Logistics Co-ordinator) Scott Robertson (Technical Services Engineer), Steve Laverick (Technical Services Manager), Mick McCall (Logistics Co-ordinator).
The hardy team of eight raised £2700 for the NSPCC. The IT firm is a long-standing supporter of the NSPCC in Newcastle and over the last six years has helped raise well over £50,000 for the charity, which has helped support vital services for vulnerable children and young people across the region.
Commenting on the ride, Phil Renton, said: “Last year we did the Coast to Coast bike ride from Whitehaven to Newcastle. This year we wanted a different challenge and came up with the idea of the Coast and Castles Bike Ride. Everyone at Croft Technology is dedicated to supporting the NSPCC and the invaluable work they do. The team had a great time and had to battle the elements on certain parts of the route, but we all made it in one piece!”
Dennis Clark, special events manager for the NSPCC said: “The employees at Croft Technology have yet again shown their ongoing commitment to the NSPCC by undertaking this challenging bike ride. I would like to thank them once again. A 200 mile bike ride is no mean feat and I know they all worked hard to train for the three day ride. All the money raised by the team will go towards ending cruelty to children, across the North East and UK.”
